“This historic building in the Woodside community of Greenville was once the largest textile mill under one roof – anywhere in the world! The manufacturing plant was built in 1902, founded by John T. Woodside and operated by Woodside and two of his brothers. Though not formally educated, Woodside had gained business experience while running a nearby mercantile, and he had gained textile experience while working a seven-year stint at Reedy River Mill (later renamed Conestee Mill).” – SC Picture Project
